Building resilience in children is difficult enough, but how can you foster strength in a child with a weak support system or a traumatic past?
Kenneth Ginsburg, MD, MSEd, Co-Director of the Center for Parent-Teen Communication, sat down with a reporter from Commonspace, a podcast collaboration between WHYY and First Person Arts. He spoke about the critical nature of parenting and how other adults, like teachers and coaches, can support parents and step up when parents’ own challenges make it difficult to offer children needed emotional support. He says that supporting resilience starts in infancy.
