Dr. Phillip B. Storm, Chief of the Division of Neurosurgery and Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs in the Department of Surgery at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), was honored with the 2025 Maimonides Medical Achievement Award by Chai Lifeline at its Annual National Gala on December 2 at Pier Sixty in New York City, NY. Chai Lifeline is the Jewish community’s leading international children’s health and crisis support organization. The event brought together hundreds of supporters, community leaders and families to celebrate hope, resilience and the transformative impact of Chai Lifeline’s services worldwide.

CHOP and Chai Lifeline share a longstanding partnership, working together to support pediatric patients and their families. This past summer, Dr. Storm visited Camp Simcha, Chai Lifeline’s flagship program - a medically supervised overnight summer camp for children and teens with chronic medical conditions. From touring the medical center to meeting the extraordinary campers, Dr. Storm witnessed firsthand the joy, strength and sense of community the camp provides.

Dr. Storm is an internationally recognized pediatric neurosurgeon specializing in brain and spine tumors and a leader in endoscopic skull base surgery, His pioneering techniques have helped advance surgical care by improving outcomes while minimizing patient morbidity.
