CHOP Talk: A Voice for ChildrenCHOP’s Homeless Health Initiative recently hosted a city-wide briefing on youth homelessness at CHOP’s Karabots Pediatric Care Center in West Philadelphia. Many partner organizations, including People’s Emergency Center, Covenant House of Pennsylvania, Education Law Center, and Juvenile Law Center, among others, joined together to discuss supporting youth who experience homelessness.
The group was joined by staff from Sens. Patrick Toomey and Robert Casey’s offices, as it was a policy-driven event intended to help inform policymakers about a systematic and coordinated approach to reducing youth homelessness, educate the audience about youth homelessness in Philadelphia, inform policymakers about key legislation related to youth homelessness, and discuss policy strategies related to the reduction of youth homelessness.
