Kicked Out of Court for Breastfeeding?

December 9, 2013 — When new mom Danielle Gendron was asked to leave a courtroom in Connecticut for discreetly nursing her 3-month-old son, she was surprised and a bit shocked. Turns out, Connecticut is one of 45 states with laws specifically allowing women to breastfeed in public. The court backtracked and apologized but breastfeeding advocates say the anecdote is telling.
Diane Spatz, PhD, RN-BC, FAAN, director of the breastfeeding and lactation program at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, is quoted in the Yahoo Shine article about the "constant battle" to raise breastfeeding awareness.
