Annual Women of Courage Awards From left, Sally Poliwoda, B.S.N., R.N., with CHOP’s Linda Hawkins, Ph.D., M.S.Ed., L.P.C., and researcher Anna Schlupp, B.S., at the May 16 Women of Courage Breakfast where Poliwoda was honored. Lutheran Settlement House presented its Annual Women of Courage Awards in May 2014. One award went to our very own Sally Poliwoda, BSN, RN, CHOP Community Nursing Advocacy Fellowship (CNAF) Program coordinator since 2006 and nurse liaison leader to the Homeless Health Initiative since 2011. Poliwoda was one of the earliest volunteer nurses when HHI was starting in the late 1980s. CNAF nurses are enthusiastic volunteers for HHI programming. Congratulations, Sally!
