Wendy Sue Swanson, MD, MBE, FAAP, more commonly known for her Seattle Mama Doc blog, recently released her first book, “Mama Doc Medicine: Finding Calm and Confidence in Parenting, Child Health, and
World-Life Balance.” Using some of her most popular blog posts as well as additional information, “Mama Doc Medicine” is a tell-all guide that offers easy-to-understand answers to questions typically asked by parents. The book is presented in four parts: Prevention, Social-Emotional Support, Immunizations, and Work-Life Balance/Mothering. At the beginning of each section, Dr. Swanson also provides an infographic related to the topic being discussed. Links to additional resources are also available at the end of the book. “Mama Doc Medicine” is available through the American Academy of Pediatrics as well as from common booksellers, including Barnes and Noble and Amazon.com.
