May Is National Stroke Awareness Month

Published on in CHOP News

May 9, 2011 — Although pediatric strokes are rare, each year, hundreds of children suffer them. For these children, it's crucial that an adult or healthcare professional recognize their symptoms and be able to take quick action.

The Pediatric Stroke Program at The Children's Hospital, one of the first programs of its kind, treats children who have suffered pediatric strokes and educates parents and professionals about the condition.

We invite you to join us this month in observing National Stroke Awareness Month. Learn how to recognize the signs of a pediatric stroke so that you can be in the know and ready to go should a stroke occur.
