Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), is characterized by (1) repetitive thoughts, images, or doubts that cause distress, and (2) behaviors to neutralize the distress of obsession, according to Dr. Katherine K. Dahlsgaard, PhD, a Lead Psychologist of the Anxiety Behaviors Clinic at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
