Pediatric Ophthalmologist and Surgeon Julia Byrd, MD, Joins Division of Ophthalmology

Julia Byrd, MD Julia Byrd, MD Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is pleased to announce the appointment of Julia Byrd, MD, to the Division of Ophthalmology. Dr. Byrd received her medical degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Gold Humanism and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. After completing her internship year at the University of Utah School of Medicine, she attended the residency program in ophthalmology at the John A. Moran Eye Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Following her residency, Dr. Byrd completed a clinical and surgical fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Byrd’s research and clinical interests include retinopathy of prematurity, pediatric strabismus, amblyopia diagnosis and management, and other congenital disorders of the eye.

Dr. Byrd sees children at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Main Campus and the CHOP Specialty Care Center at Virtua Voorhees.
