Insurance Updates: New Agreement

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Geisinger Health Plan (GHP) entered into a new full system agreement effective 7/1/2014 that includes access to all of the CHOP facility locations, all CHOP physician practice plans and our Ancillary services. This applies to all of the Geisinger commercial plans and removed the previous barriers in place for CHOP services for patients with this insurance. The commercial plans include the plan covering the Christiana Care employer group.

At this time CHOP remains non-par in the Geisinger Governmental plans, including Medicaid and CHIP. Medical director approval is required for patients with these plans and GHP will work with CHOP to secure single-case agreements as needed. If you have any questions about insurance, contact your physician liaison.
