New patient visits and follow-up appointments are available. CHOP cardiologists also offer pediatric inpatient care at Lancaster General Hospital.

Urgent Care Coming to Brandywine Valley

Starting Oct. 3, 2016, after-hours urgent care will be available at the CHOP Care Network location in Glen Mills, PA. Children and adolescents who need to be seen right away can come in without an appointment. Hours will be:

  • Monday through Friday: 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Saturdays: 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Sundays: 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Leukodystrophy Center of Excellence Established at CHOP

For children with leukodystrophies — a group of rare, inherited disorders that affect the white matter in the brain and spinal cord — early diagnosis is important to establish preventative strategies and improve quality of life. CHOP’s Leukodystrophy Center brings together a multidisciplinary group of providers to offer cutting-edge diagnostic testing, comprehensive clinical care, and the most advanced treatment to infants and children with inherited white matter disease.

Improving Outcomes for Children with Anorectal Continence Issues

For children with anorectal continence issues related to conditions such as Hirschsprung’s disease or anorectal malformations, CHOP’s Pediatric Anorectal Continence Evaluation (PACE) Program offers a coordinated approach to surgery and long-term care. This includes establishing a successful bowel management program so children can lead normal, healthy lives. Division of Ophthalmology Welcomes New Physician

Pediatric Ophthalmologist and Surgeon Priyanka Kumar, MD, specializes in retinopathy of prematurity, strabismus in adults and children, amblyopia, anterior segment surgery, pediatric ocular trauma, and surgical and nonsurgical management of pediatric cornea and ocular surface abnormalities. Kumar will see patients at Main Campus and CHOP Specialty Care & Surgery Centers in Brandywine, King of Prussia and Exton.
