Parent reading to child A book can transport a child into a whole new world. At Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, we recognize that reading aloud to your child can have a positive impact on their future.

Children visiting CHOP Primary Care, South Philadelphia are part of our Reach Out and Read family. They receive a new book from their doctor or nurse practitioner at every well visit (ages 6 months to 5 years) and parents and caregivers receive tips and encouragement on how to read aloud with their child.
