Homeless Health Initiative Annual ReportThe Homeless Health Initiative (HHI) applauds Dione Tongal, the 2017 winner of the Geneva Burney Maxwell Memorial Service Award. This award was established by Karen Maxwell Hudson in honor and loving memory of her mother, Geneva Burney Maxwell, a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all. This annual award is given to a mother living at St. Barnabas Mission, chosen by fellow residents and staff, who demonstrates exemplary service to her children and family and to her community, both in and outside of the shelter.
Tongal demonstrated all of these qualities and, even after departing the shelter, has given back to the shelter community. We are proud of Dione and know that with her positive attitude she will do well in the future. We extend our sincerest congratulations!
