Philanthropy is a Team Sport

Philadelphia Insurance Companies (PHLY) is a Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) partner in every sense of the word. A recent Chairman Circle’s member, they have been supporting the Parkway Run & Walk — which benefits CHOP’s Cancer Center — for 17 years through their very own TEAMPHLY.

In year’s past, the Office of the CEO helped promote Parkway Run fundraising events by greeting employees as they arrived at the office and distributing postcards printed with a calendar of upcoming fundraising events.

In recent years, they took that a step further, spending a morning walking around the different departments, speaking with employees and inviting them to participate.

Outside of corporate support, TEAMPHLY encourages employees to fundraise incrementally each year. In 2019 alone, employees raised over $45,000. Employees took their fundraising efforts seriously and created various activities including an indoor triathlon and miniature golf competitions. Each event featured a CHOP story to illustrate the impact of their fundraising efforts. Through their longstanding commitment, they have demonstrated that philanthropy is indeed a team sport.

This is just one of the many stories of donor impact that happened during the campaign For Tomorrow’s Breakthroughs.
