Donor Recognition

Recognizing our donors at every level

Your philanthropic support for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia makes you part of a special community of donors who share your dedication to pediatric health, world-class treatments and innovative medical research.

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia appreciates the inspiring generosity and loyalty of its donors with exclusive recognition societies at every giving level. Your Giving Society membership includes exclusive invitations to special luncheons, receptions and events, along with named or anonymous acknowledgment in the annual giving report and on the Donor Wall in the Hospital.

President's Circle

The Board of Trustees established the President's Circle as the most prestigious recognition society at the Hospital, reserved for those at the highest level of giving — donors whose cumulative giving to CHOP exceeds $1 million.

Lifetime membership in the President's Circle includes permanent recognition on the President's Circle wall near the main entrance of the Hospital, acknowledgement in the annual Philanthropy Report, and an invitation to a special reception and dinner hosted annually by the Board of Trustees and Foundation Board of Advisors at its fiscal year-end meeting.

Lewis Society

The Lewis Society honors those who have included Children's Hospital in their long-term plans through a legacy gift. Lewis Society members continue the enduring tradition of generosity and vision that originated with the Hospital's founder, Dr. Francis West Lewis.

Philanthropy has played a crucial role since Children's Hospital first opened its doors on Thanksgiving Day in 1855. It was the young visionary, Francis West Lewis, MD, who during a trip to London was so inspired in visiting a hospital devoted entirely to the care of sick children that he immediately returned to help establish America's first pediatric hospital: The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Dr. Lewis' father, Mordecai D. Lewis, served as the first President of the Hospital's Board of Managers, helped to finance the Hospital in its early years, and left the first bequest to Children's Hospital. Dr. Lewis' two sisters also gave a transforming gift to CHOP to honor their brother's legacy.

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia still bears the indelible marks of the Lewis Family. Their commitment to sick and injured children is perpetuated in every commitment made by members of the Lewis Society today. We invite you to join the many others who have joined the Lewis Society in support of Children's Hospital through a will, trust, life insurance policy, retirement plan, annuity, or other type of planned gift.
