After Food Deserts Become Food Oases: Improving Engagement With Local Food Systems Among Low-income, Urban Families

Through an academic-community partnership with The Enterprise Center Community Development Corporation, this project aims to: 1) assess barriers to community-supported agriculture (CSA) and farm stand participation among a random sample of Walnut Hill families; 2) assess whether barriers vary based on existing shopping, food preparation, and eating habits; and 3) explore strategies for improved engagement with the CSA program and farm stand.
