Harvey, the friendly dog, helps young children be healthy
Healthy with Harvey is a new, nonprofit organization developed to help young children learn about healthy behaviors and feelings. Each entry includes a short story for the child and guidance for parents. Sample topics, found in the “Stories” section of the website, include:
- Preparing for bed
- Eating a healthy lunch
- Getting a checkup
- Addressing fears
- Brushing teeth
- Dealing with death
- Being kind
- Among others
“When the Science Changes: The Peanut Allergy Story”
After years of advising against giving babies foods that contain peanuts, the guidance has changed. In the November 2025 issue of The Hilleman Chronicle, our newsletter for science and history enthusiasts, we discussed this history and the study that led to the changes in guidance.
