VYF’s “State of the ImmUnion” 2026 report
Each year, Vaccinate Your Family (VYF) publishes a report that summarizes the situation in the U.S. when it comes to vaccines and the diseases they prevent. The 2026 report was recently released in a shortened format compared with previous years, but the information presented is no less important or informative. While this report is primarily aimed at elected officials, it can be a helpful overview for anyone with an interest in vaccines.
Some of the highlights included:
- A sample summary of cases of vaccine-preventable diseases in the U.S., including more than 2,000 cases of measles and over 28,000 cases of pertussis in 2025 as well as three measles deaths and 289 pediatric deaths from influenza.
- Concerns related to divergence across states when it comes to their immunization approach.

- A summary of survey data demonstrating strong public support for vaccines.
