Family Learning Center
The Family Learning Center (FLC) at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia provides a private, quiet environment where parents and caregivers can learn the skills needed to care for their child’s healthcare needs at home. We offer classes for both inpatient and outpatient families.
Where to find us
The Family Learning Center is located on the 8th Floor of the Main Building inside of the Connelly Resource Center for Families.
We offer classes seven days a week. Weekend classes are generally limited to inpatient families to facilitate discharge.
If your child’s healthcare provider thinks you would benefit from a FLC class, they will refer you to our team and we will work with you to set up an appointment.
What we do
Our nurse educators provide families with one-on-one instruction.
We use models, mannequins, and other tools to simulate care that you’ll be providing to your child at home. We’ll partner with your child’s healthcare team to share outcomes of the classes and recommendations for follow-up or resources to support you at home as needed.
