When it opens in 2015, the Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care will revolutionize care for children, standing as the nation’s most state-of-the-art facility for outpatient medicine.
A stunning addition to the skyline of West Philadelphia, across the street from Children’s Seashore House and the Main Building, the new Center will enable smoother and more efficient visits, provide a hub for comprehensive medical services and grow the capacity of The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to meet the most complex pediatric health needs from across the country and around the world.
The Hospital is extremely grateful to Constance and Alan Buerger, Krista and Reid Buerger, and Grant Buerger. Their landmark $50 million commitment toward this new state-of-the-art outpatient facility is the largest gift in Hospital history, and one of the largest naming gifts for a building in Philadelphia.
Constance and Alan Buerger have been longtime donors to Children’s Hospital. Together they founded Coventry, a global financial services firm specializing in longevity and mortality risk. Mr. Buerger serves as the company’s chief executive officer, while Mrs. Buerger is its president. They reside in the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia, Pa.
Grant Buerger resides in Philadelphia, Pa. He is a freelance writer.
Krista and Reid Buerger live in Ambler, Pa. with their two children. Mr. Buerger is a co-founder of Coventry, and Mrs. Buerger is executive vice-president. Reid joined the Hospital’s Board of Trustees in September 2012.
