The Adult CF Care Program at the University of Pennsylvania (Penn) is located at the Presbyterian Medical Center campus.
Penn's program is one of the largest adult CF programs in the United States. Patients are either transitioned from The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia or are referred from practices in the tri-state area. The adult care team consists of pulmonologists, an advanced practice nurse, a physical therapist, a respiratory therapist, a nutritionist and a social worker. Specialists in gastroenterology, ENT (ear, nose and throat), surgery as well as other subspecialists familiar with the individual with cystic fibrosis are readily available on site.
We have a close working relationship with both the Lung Transplant Program and the Liver Transplant Program at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP). In addition, we work closely with maternal-fetal medicine specialists to provide care for any patients who are pregnant.
