60 Minutes Australia Features T Cell Therapy at CHOP

Emily Whitehead was the first pediatric patient enrolled in a clinical trial called CTL019 — an experimental immunotherapy for a subset of relapsed cancers. The treatment has had encouraging results for Emily, and now Austin will, hopefully, reap the same benefits.

After being completely out of options and near death, Emily has been declared “cancer free” by her doctors at CHOP. Austin will soon be starting the same treatment.

60 Minutes Australia featured Emily and Austin’s story, along with Stephan A. Grupp, MD, PhD, an attending physician at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, discussing the treatment.
