The CHOP Pediatric Surgery Fellowship

The training program for The Louise Schnaufer Endowed Fellowship in Pediatric Surgery is two years in duration beginning July 1st each year.

The pediatric surgical subspecialty areas have been fully developed within the Department of Surgery, and more than 34,000 operations are performed each year. In addition to the 15 operating rooms that are currently in place, including three state of the art endosurgery suites, there is a nearly completed expansion to 23 operating rooms that will include 8 fully equipped endosurgery suites. There currently are approximately 83 full-time surgeons at Children's Hospital in pediatric general surgery, urology, cardiac surgery, plastic surgery, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, orthopedics and neurosurgery. A close working relationship exists between all of these subspecialty areas, so there is a great deal of multidisciplinary interaction.
