CHOP Open-access Medical Education: Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine Presentations

This seminar focuses on Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine. The lectures are prepared by Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia staff in weeklong modules that are prepared in affiliation with the American Austrian Foundation Open Medical Institute and presented in Salzburg, Austria. The lectures of this seminar are in the order they were presented.

Pediatric Cardiac Arrest Resuscitation and Post Resuscitation Care

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to describe in-hospital and out-of-hospital cardiac arrest epidemiology, identify programs that improve CPR quality and delivery, and explain the key changes to the 2015 ERC post arrest care guidelines.

Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to describe the history of diagnosis of ARDS, identify the means of diagnosing ARDS, understand the pathophysiology, epidemiology of ARDS and identify and evaluate the current treatment strategies.
