CHOP Celiac Expert Presents at Gluten Free Expo

The Greater Philly Gluten Free Expo and Central PA Gluten Free Expo joined forces this year for the PA Virtual Gluten Free Expo on Nov. 7. The expo, which was free for people with celiac disease and their families, featured a day of online gluten-free goodness. The event included virtual classes by experts in celiac disease and gluten-free diets, as well as the ability to video chat with companies that make gluten-free products.

Lisa Fahey, MD, Co-director of the Center for Celiac Disease and pediatric gastroenterologist at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), presented on “Associated Conditions of Celiac Disease” at the event. Dr. Fahey’s talk focused on conditions that put individuals at greater risk of developing celiac disease, as well as what health complications can develop as a result of celiac disease.
