CHOP’s Buddy Walk & Family Fun Day Raises $260,000+ for Trisomy 21 Program On Sunday, October 8, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) hosted its annual Buddy Walk & Family Fun Day benefiting the hospital’s Trisomy 21 (Down syndrome) Program, which supports healthier futures for patients and helps to improve the lives of individuals with Down syndrome.

More than 3,000 participants and 140 teams including individuals with Down syndrome, their families and community supporters, came to Lincoln Financial Field and raised more than $260,000 (and counting!) for life-changing care, education and research for patients to experience the joys of childhood and flourish in adulthood. The morning was filled with engaging and fun activities for the entire family, including moon bounces, carnival games, character appearances, food, entertainment and a silent auction.

CHOP’s Buddy Walk & Family Fun Day Raises $260,000+ for Trisomy 21 Program As the staple fundraising event for the Trisomy 21 Program at CHOP, the Buddy Walk & Family Fun Day, established in 2002, aims to raise crucial funds to support the program year-round, promotes acceptance and inclusion of people with Trisomy 21, and celebrates children and adults with Down syndrome and their families. The event also supports the National Down Syndrome Society. Over the course of 22 years, the Buddy Walk & Family Fun Day has raised more than $4.3 million for CHOP’s Trisomy 21 Program.
