The Spectrum of Feeding Disorders: Feeding those on the Spectrum

March 26, 2010 — The simple ability to consume food is one most of us take for granted. But for some children, getting adequate nourishment is far from simple. Feeding and swallowing (dysphagia) problems are extremely complex and surprisingly common in children with autism. Without appropriate treatment, these disorders can have lasting effects on a child’s physical and emotional development.

The conference "Spectrum of Feeding Disorders: Feeding those on the Spectrum," will highlight approaches to treating children on the autism spectrum with feeding disorders with:

  • Presentations by guest lecturers including: Susan Levy, MD, Maureen Black, PhD, and Thomas Linschied, PhD
  • Interactive breakouts sessions
  • A family panel
