Question: Which brand new CHOP facility will open next month?

Answer: The Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care

On July 27, 2015, the Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care will open its doors to its first patients. The Buerger Center, located on CHOP’s Raymond G. Perelman Campus in West Philadelphia, is a 12-story, 700,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art outpatient facility.

It will have underground parking for 1,500 vehicles, and the street-level plaza will feature beautifully landscaped gardens and water fountains. The building is designed for ease of navigation and efficient appointments.

But the Buerger Center is not the only new CHOP facility opening in 2015! Earlier this year, CHOP opened specialty care centers in both Princeton, NJ, and King of Prussia, PA.

  • The 25,000-square foot Specialty Care, Princeton at Plainsboro facility is on the campus of the University Medical Center of Princeton. It offers new services and amenities including physical therapy, occupational therapy and rehab gyms, speech therapy, auditory brainstem response (ABR) testing, and diagnostic X-ray services.
  • The new Specialty Care Center in King of Prussia is replacing the previous facility nearby and includes 68 exam rooms, more than 30 medical and surgical subspecialties, a developmental PT/OT gym, pediatric imaging, a day hospital for oncology patients, a sleep center, ambulatory surgery, and an urgent care center. The new facility opened to patients in May, and more and more departments are transitioning over.

Later this year, CHOP will also open a new primary care center in South Philadelphia, as well the Specialty Care & Surgery Center, Brandywine Valley in Glen Mills, PA.
