Our work has the potential to impact the lives of millions of children, and this campaign ensures that nothing is beyond CHOP’s reach.

One of the featured campaign initiatives is Digital Health. Advances in digital technology at CHOP are growing at an expansive rate and several programs could be accelerated with philanthropic support:
MyCHOP Mobile
CHOP is employing telehealth technologies in order to connect providers and patients quicker and easier, whether these patients are at home, school, at another health system, or in another country. Patients are able to sign into MyCHOP from a mobile device or tablet, click on a scheduled appointment and will be connected directly with their provider for a face-to-face video interaction.
Virtual & Augmented reality
In the coming months, a workgroup will evaluate and prioritize use cases for patient/family and provider and look to develop technology/device standards and initial partner collaborations around content. Several Initial pilots could be live before end of FY18.
Care Robots
In January, CHOP’s Child Life Department implemented a phase 1 trial of a care robot for several weeks. Future phases could include:
- Welcoming visitors and answer answering questions
- Real-time translations from one language to another such as tips and instructions for navigating the hospital
- Outreach – Visiting Patients, Fundraising initiatives or events and the community at large
MyChart Bedside
This multi-phase project will add new features to enhance the healthcare experience. From programmed medication reminders, to lab results, this bedside tool will be accessible from CHOP-issued tablets. The current pilot is deployed in Oncology, Surgery, and Complex Care. Phase 2 deployment will look to add additional features, including the ability to order food, supplies, and more.
