Fuel progress by participating in a CHOP fundraising event
As a member of the CHOP employee family, you consistently contribute to revolutionary breakthroughs that impact children and families, both here and beyond our walls.
One way to support the hospital, outside of your role, is by joining other colleagues and participating in one of our fundraising events that benefits CHOP. For example, you can register for the annual Parkway Run & Walk.
Parkway Run & Walk 2018
In 2017, more than 9,000 people came together for the Parkway Run & Walk and it’s our brave patients, like Kaleo, who drive the momentum for participation year after year. Kaleo was diagnosed with Juvenile Myelomonocytic Leukemia (JMML) which is a very rare form of cancer. With resources raised from the Parkway Run & Walk, a multi-disciplinary team of CHOP oncologists collaborated and developed a treatment plan that ultimately saved Kaleo’s life. In addition to his skilled team of clinicians, event participants also played a role in Kaleo’s breakthrough by supporting the event.
Buddy Walk® & Family Fun Day 2018
When you participate in CHOP events you’ll meet staff from other departments, patients, families and other friends who all share the same passion for our mission. Another fun event to take part in is the Buddy Walk® and Family Fun Day.
This event is dedicated to finding breakthrough care for patients with Down syndrome, patients like Hazel. When she was young, Hazel was diagnosed with Down syndrome and several related issues. Born with a congenital heart defect, Hazel underwent an open-heart surgery when she was just 2 ½ months old. Funding raised from the CHOP Buddy Walk® and Family Fun Day enables CHOP to bring together specialists to provide complex treatment plans for patients like Hazel and ensure bright and healthy futures.
