Doctors Talk Diseases
In these short videos, doctors from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia discuss vaccine-preventable diseases that many parents — and even some young physicians — have not seen because of the success of vaccines. Unfortunately, because the viruses or bacteria that cause these diseases are still present, the illnesses can easily return.
Viewers get to “listen in” as the doctors discuss important aspects of the diseases that they need to be ready to diagnose if immunization rates fall.
The doctors featured in this series include:
- Dr. Paul Offit, Director of the Vaccine Education Center and attending physician in the Division of Infectious Diseases
- Dr. Anjuli Gans, primary care pediatrician at Karabots Pediatric Care Center, West Philadelphia
- Dr. Katie Lockwood, attending physician at CHOP Primary Care, South Philadelphia and host of “Primary Care Perspectives,” a podcast for pediatricians
