On the Bookshelf: Galactic Academy of Science Series by Pendred Noyce

Vaccine Update for Healthcare ProvidersDr. Pendred Noyce has written several science-based books for middle school-age children. Some of Dr. Noyce’s titles relate to vaccines and infectious diseases. Most recently, as part of the Galactic Academy of Science series, Dr. Noyce has released The Case of the COVID Crisis, which not only discusses the COVID-19 pandemic, but also the 1918 influenza pandemic and the eradication of smallpox. Another book in the series, The Vicious Case of the Viral Vaccine, guides students through some vaccine history, including development of the polio and mumps vaccines and the history of the false notion that MMR vaccine causes autism.
