On the Bookshelf: Pink Book Appendix Updates

Vaccine Update for Healthcare ProvidersThe Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced a few updates to information in the 13th Edition (2015) of the Epidemiology and Prevention of Vaccine-Preventable Diseases. Specifically, the following updates were made:
- Recommended and minimum age intervals table in Appendix A was updated to agree with Table 3-1 in the newly released General Best Practice Guidelines for Immunization (see this month’s Technically Speaking article by Dr. Wexler).
- U.S. vaccines table in Appendix B was updated to reflect currently available vaccines in the U.S.
- National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act: Vaccine Injury Table in Appendix D was updated to reflect petitions for compensation filed before March 21, 2017.
