Commonly known as “The Purple Book,” the newest edition of Gary Marshall’s vaccine guide is dedicated to Dr. Stanley Plotkin, inventor of the rubella vaccine and co-inventor of the rotavirus vaccine, founder of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (PIDS), co-editor of Plotkin’s Vaccines, the comprehensive text about vaccines, and mentor to Dr. Marshall and numerous others in the field of pediatric infectious diseases and vaccines. The 7th edition is more than 600 pages and includes updated information related to vaccine recommendations, practice, schedules and more.
