Parents PACKPaul A. Offit, MD, Director of the Vaccine Education Center, is now a weekly columnist for The Daily Beast. Dr. Offit will write about medical and scientific topics, including but not limited to vaccines and public health. For example, his Jan. 29, 2017, article addressed the question “Are Kids Getting Too Many Vaccines?” You can read his other columns on a dedicated page of The Daily Beast website, or by visiting the VEC homepage.
Voices for Vaccines, a parent-led vaccine advocacy group, debuted a new podcast recently:Vax TALK. The podcast will discuss current news about vaccines as well as the impact on communities and families. You can listen to the podcast here, or subscribe via iTunes.
Did you know that you could visit Edward Jenner’s house and property? Jenner, often considered the father of modern vaccinology, lived and worked in Gloucestershire, England. Jenner’s home is now a museum dedicated to his studies formalizing smallpox vaccination, which led to the eradication of this once disfiguring and deadly disease.
