Have you heard of the Immunization Coalitions Network? Administered by the Immunization Action Coalition (IAC), this important network offers coalition members guidance, a network of colleagues dealing with similar issues, and lots of resources, including webinars and conferences.

Recently, the Immunization Coalitions Network team posted a series of resources related to starting a coalition. The “Getting Started” page offers a series of resources and guides to assist new groups with the development process, determining their goals and needs, and how to be sustainable.

Acute flaccid myelitis

The CDC’s July 2019 Vital Signs report included a summary of recent experience with acute flaccid myelitis (AFM). Given that most cases in recent outbreaks have occurred in late summer and early fall, the publication offers an easy way to brush up on what is known, how to recognize AFM, and the most up-to-date numbers related to cases as we head into the period when cases may start to appear.
