As scary and frustrating as it is for families that have a child with an eating disorder, there is hope. At Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), we believe eating disorders are reversible conditions with neurobiologic and genetic roots, and we are here to help restore your child to health.

Children and adolescents with eating disorders can find evaluation, inpatient nutrition stabilization and outpatient therapy in the Eating Disorder Assessment and Treatment Program at CHOP. Treatment includes ongoing medical and nutrition checkups.

We believe families are a critical part of the treatment plan, and we follow a family-based model of care. Our team supports parents or caregivers in treating these illnesses at home using evidence-based treatment whenever possible.

How we serve you

After an initial evaluation, your child will be placed in the appropriate level of programming to meet their needs. These are:

Why choose us

Not all youth with an eating disorder need the same intensity of treatment. We offer three levels of outpatient care to ensure the therapy meets the changing needs of your child and family.
