About the Integrative Health Gastroenterology Clinic
Who we treat
The Integrative Health (IH) Gastroenterology Clinic is available to children and young adults suffering from gastrointestinal problems who would like to consider an integrative approach in managing their symptoms. Integrative health practices may help with a wide variety of symptoms and conditions, including abdominal pain, constipation, gastro-esophageal reflux, nausea, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), among others. The clinic is open to patients whether or not they are already seen by a doctor within the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) network.
If you believe your child may benefit from the IH Gastroenterology Clinic, please speak with your physician about a referral to the clinic. You can also contact us by calling 215-590-3630 (pressing option #1), emailing us at email@example.com, or submitting a form online.
What we do
If you are interested in an integrative approach to managing your child’s GI symptoms, we’ll work with you in a holistic manner, considering each patient’s unique needs and background, in addition to the medical diagnosis, as factors in tailoring an individualized integrative treatment plan.
Your child will first undergo an evaluation where we will review their underlying health problems and medical history to determine whether an integrative health approach might be beneficial. Because GI conditions are so closely linked to food and nutrition, consultation with an integrative dietician may be included in this initial evaluation.
If an integrative treatment approach is agreed on, we will advise on the complementary portion of the treatment plan, including treatment or practice options and the selection of reliable practitioners, methods and sources. Some of these complementary treatments may be available as part of CHOP’s Integrative Health Program.
In periodic follow-up visits, we will monitor your child’s progress and regularly evaluate the effectiveness of all aspects of the treatment plan.
