HLA typing by next generation sequencing (NGS) at CHOP

The Immunogenetics Laboratory at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) offers HLA typing via next generation sequencing to CHOP transplant patients and clients throughout the country. The Immunogenetics Laboratory was the first clinical lab in the nation to offer HLA typing via next generation sequencing, which replaces preliminary and reflexive tests with a single test, providing the highest resolution possible by covering the full HLA genomic region.
