Toxicology Testing, Drugscan

  • Consider drug testing if presenting within 96 hrs of assault if:
    • Obvious signs of intoxication
    • Loss of memory for events around assault
    • Adolescent/parental concern for drug-facilitated assault, including those who used alcohol or drugs voluntarily

Screen (UDS)
  • Amphetamines
  • Barbiturates
  • Most benzodiazepines
  • Cannabis
  • Cocaine
  • Most opiates
    • Buprenorphine not detected
  • PCP
  • Fentanyl
Save our Specimen (SOS) Allows for add-on testing
CHOP Serum Drug Screen Alcohol, acetaminophen, salicylates
Urine Drugscan Kit,
SART CART
  • Send urine only as clinically indicated
  • Place 20 mL urine in each vial in the kit
  • Complete paperwork/consent forms in the kit if applicable
  • Send Urine Drugscan Kit with Forensic Evidence Collection Kit — give to
    Law Enforcement

    Law Enforcement
