Behavioral Escalations Clinical Pathway — Outpatient Specialty Care and Primary Care
R.A.C.E. Response
R.A.C.E. actions are utilized for an all-hazard response. While the acronym provides staff with a simple mechanism for remembering appropriate response activities, it should be noted that responses may not always occur in this sequential order or employ all aspects of R.A.C.E. for every hazard. R.A.C.E. represents components of a response, which are to be utilized in whatever way necessary. Often times, response actions occur simultaneously by multiple staff members (e.g., some staff may be removing patients from a hazard, while other staff are calling CHOP Security and/or 9-1-1.).
See Emergency Preparedness page for additional guidance.
