Management of Electrolyte Abnormalities

Na	If sodium between 128-155 mmol/L, refer to Continuous Administration of IV Fluids Pathway If sodium outside of this range, consider recheck and a nephrology consult for assistance with acute management
Glu	If hypoglycemia (BG < 70) present prior to admission Check POC glucose on admission and q3h until POC glucose > 70 If blood glucoses persistently < 70 despite NG and/or IV rehydration, consult Endocrine Consider 2 mL/kg D10W bolus for persistent hypoglycemia
