Ischemic Limb

Definition

Ischemic limb: cool, pale, markedly delayed or absent cap refill

  1. Notify attending on service, cath lab team and thrombosis/anticoagulation team STAT
  2. Start heparin per protocol
  3. STAT extremity ultrasound
  4. Consider surgical consult
  5. Further treatment pending above consultations and findings (possibilities
    include heparin, rtpa, intervention)

Possible Indications for rtPA

  1. Ischemic/threatened limb
  2. Already limited femoral access
