Infant Malnutrition/Failure to Thrive (FTT) Clinical Pathway — Inpatient
Infant Malnutrition/Failure to Thrive (FTT) Clinical Pathway — Inpatient
Patients with Infant Malnutrition < 12 months
This pathway applies to infants in the first 12 months of life admitted to General Pediatrics with poor weight gain or weight loss, which may or may not include malnutrition diagnoses.
- Failure to thrive (FTT) is a symptom, not a diagnosis. Malnutrition is a diagnosis that more accurately describes inadequate nutrition and can be determined via clinical assessment.
Exclusions
- Patients with medical complexities
- Patients who spend time in any ICU during the current admission
