Micrognathia-Retrognathia Clinical Pathway — N/IICU and ICU
Airway Considerations
- To identify a difficult/critical airway, the following are considered:
- Clinical exam
- Prior intubation history
- Microlaryngoscopy bronchoscopy (MLB) at time of mandibular distraction osteogenesis
- Until successful planned extubation, follow the Difficult/Critical Airway pathway
- Neonate/infant typically remain intubated one week post-operatively
- Prior to extubation, discuss with Plastic Surgery
