Micrognathia-Retrognathia Clinical Pathway — N/IICU and ICU

Goals

  • Reduce variability in the evaluation of neonates/infants with micrognathia
  • Reduce variability in care of neonates/infants with mandibular distraction osteogenesis
  • Infection: Ensure all neonates/infants are treated with the appropriate antibiotic post-operatively
  • Sleep Study: Ensure all neonates/infants are treated with the appropriate PSG (polysomnogram)
  • Distractor arm care: Provide evidence-based, consistently documented,
    best-practice care to all neonates/infants post-operatively related to distractor arm care

Metrics

  • Utilization of the pathway
  • Documentation of distractor arm care
  • Incidence of hospital-acquired infections (surgical site, bloodstream,
    pressure injury)
