Symptoms Consistent with Ineffective Bowel Management
The following are symptoms that are consistent with an ineffective bowel-management program:
- Bristol stool scale < 3
- Abdominal pain
- Nausea and/or vomiting
- Decreased appetite
- Stool accidents (> once each month)
- Anal fissures, skin breakdown of buttocks
- Rectal prolapse
- Recurrent urinary tract infection (UTI)
- Rectal bleeding
