Post-CPR Clinical Pathway — PICU, CICU and N/IICU

Goals

Promote best possible neurologic outcome by:

  1. Minimizing complications of temperature control
  2. Monitoring for and treating post-arrest seizures
  3. Preventing abnormalities in blood pressure, temperature, oxygenation, ventilation and glucose level

Metrics

  • % of time BP without hypotension (See Clinical Vital Sign Targets)
  • No fever – core temperature maintained < 38°C
  • % of time in ordered target temperature range
  • % of post-cardiac arrest patients with cardiac arrest order set used in Epic
