Social Work and Psychological Support Services Follow-up

Social Work Follow-up
  • Continued aftercare with child/adolescent, CPS, and police
  • Referral to county Child Advocacy Center
  • Follow-up notifications to involved professionals, including psychiatry, who can continue care and treatment required
  • Suspected human trafficking:
    • Resources and Referrals for Suspected Victims of Human Trafficking  
    • Even if it is not possible to confirm if a potential victim is a real one, provide the following resource when you suspect human trafficking, using discretion to maintain safety and confidentiality
    • National Human Trafficking Hotline: 1-888-373-7888 or text 233733
Psychological Support Services Follow-up
  • Referrals to outpatient support services:
    • SW will make referrals for support services based on the specific needs of the family
    • Referrals for outside services may be made during CARE Clinic visit if not made in the ED
  • Emergency Mental Health Consultation:
    • During initial assessment SW, assesses for MH concerns and will discuss with evaluating team
    • Psychiatry consult as indicated
    • If needed, National Suicide Hotline: 988
