Laboratory and Imaging Studies

WBC count is often elevated in patients with ACS; hemoglobin may be reduced from baseline. Few patients have positive blood cultures and positive viral panel.

Initial Labs
  • CBC w/differential, reticulocyte count
  • LDH
  • Blood culture
  • Consider
    • VBG
    • Respiratory Panel
    • BMP or CMP
    • SAR-CoV2
  • SAR-CoV2 testing, as clinically indicated
Additional Labs Type & Screen
Daily Monitoring CBC w/ differential, reticulocyte count
Imaging
  • Chest X-ray, 2 views
  • CTA, as otherwise clinically indicated
